Why do you need my password?

We want to ensure that your laptop is fully repaired and is returned to you in confidence. Some of our diagnostic tests may require your main power-on, Windows, or other operating system account password. We do not use your password to view your personal files or gain access to any confidential information.

We do not require your internet connection, email, instant messenger or VOIP password. The only exception to this is if you specifically ask us to investigate a problem with one of these services, in which case your password may be required.

If you have forgotten your password and we get your consent, we can remove the existing password without ever knowing the original. This will allow us to access the system as if we had typed in the original password. Please write 'forgotten' (without quotes) in the password field on our booking form if this is the case.
